Joshua’s Law (also known as House Bill 466) was amended to make driver education mandatory for all 16 – 17-year-olds to be able to get a Georgia driver’s license. Prior to the change, it was only required for 16-year-olds. Drivers aged 17 were exempt from the 30 hours of Driver’s Ed instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving lessons. As of today, 16 – 17-year-olds must complete an approved driver education course with a certified private or public driver trainer.

Pinnacle Pointe DUI & Driving Schools provides DDS and state-certified 6-hour Defensive Driver classes. Classes are located at both school locations and are normally conducted from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm (please call ahead for class schedule as it may vary). We offer the course Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Please refer to the frequently asked questions for more information. These classes may remove up to 7 points from your driving record (within a 5-year period), satisfying requirements for reinstatement, and lower insurance premiums by up to 20%.
